Rehabilitation Therapy Patient Testimonial: AJ Ollendieck
No one really ever plans on getting injured. But
then it happens, and you are forced to deal with
the pain, the missed work, and the medical
appointments. AJ Ollendieck is no stranger to
dealing with injuries. He had the misfortune of
falling off of a roof while working in construction
a few years ago, breaking his leg in three places
and enduring multiple surgeries.
Then two
months ago, AJ took one step up on a stool,
heard a pop in his knee, and immediately
experienced a great deal of pain and swelling.
As a result of this injury, AJ had arthroscopic
surgery on his knee in February at Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa in Mason City, and was back home later that same day of surgery. AJ indicated that he was “very happy with the care and attention he received at Mercy in Mason City”.
To assist in his recovery, it was recommended that AJ participate in rehabilitation therapy. He contacted the Rehab Department at Regional Health Services of Howard County (RHSHC), remembering how helpful the staff had been with the therapy of his broken leg nine years ago. “People are always nice here in Cresco, and the staff are positive”, AJ added that it is “great to receive care in a friendly atmosphere close to home”. AJ is back to work now with no restrictions. With a grin on his face, he indicated that he has only one slight limitation for now. According to AJ, “I still can’t kneel very well yet, so I have to pray on my feet!”
We wish AJ all the best and thank him for choosing to use the rehabilitation services at RHSHC. The expectation for any patient visiting a health care facility is to receive quality care. Receiving accessible, quality health care that surpasses expectations is the service excellence standard demonstrated by the caring staff of RHSHC.
