A few emotions come to mind when thinking about starting a family: excited, happy, worried, overwhelmed. Tanya and Dennis Riehle are experiencing these emotions as they are expecting their first child in November. Tanya wanted to share her story about the care she has been receiving at the Cresco Medical Clinic, Regional Health Services, and especially from her healthcare provider Dr. Tanya Vreeke and nurse Melissa Lovstuen.
After trying for two years to have a baby, along with experiencing an ectopic pregnancy, Tanya and Dennis had lots of questions and concerns. Tanya stated "Talking with Dr. Vreeke is like talking to a sister or to a friend, and that puts me at ease and is so comforting. I can ask her anything. Rather than launching into special testing causing added stress, not to mention expense, Dr. Vreeke offered reassurance and a common sense approach to my medical care. Now Dennis and I are looking forward to the birth of our first child." Tanya also commented, "With my husband’s busy work schedule, Dr. Vreeke has gone out of her way to try to accommodate us, making it possible for Dennis to be at the ultrasound testing of our baby." The convenience of receiving obstetrical care, delivering at RHSHC Hospital Services and having postnatal and newborn care right in Cresco is an added benefit as well as a priority for busy parents.
As a patient, expectations are to receive good, quality healthcare. It is when expectations are exceeded with such positive experiences that prompted Tanya Riehle to share her story.
